Portrait Sculptures

The artwork that you choose to put on display in your home or commercial property can speak volumes about your personality. Whether you are looking for a stunning portrait sculpture (12 – 18 inches) for your home, or at a commercial venue, SculpturesNYC is here.

When Glenn Marlowe makes you a custom-made original portrait 3-D work of art, it will reflect you, your loved one or friend with taste.

Alternatively, you may choose a portrait bust sculpture from the gallery collection created in his unique realistic and classical style at his studio in Long Island City, New York.  Glenn Marlowe is a talented sculptor, associated with many New York organizations including the National Sculpture Society where he was recently exhibiting. He is eager to share his work with you either as an in-person visit, via Facetime/ Zoom or through his website, SculpturesNYC.com.

Commissioning a portrait sculpture from the artist could be as simple as sending a photograph of yourself. Whether you are an art aficionado or learning about art, Glenn Marlowe can provide you with a personally designed lifelike sculpture. Read on to learn more about Glenn Marlowe and his portrait sculptures.

What is it that Glenn Marlowe as a sculptor is trying to achieve? He loves finding the life force in a face which he is able to translate to three dimensional form. Sculpting is his vehicle for articulating his fascination with the human figure. Watching humans in action and movement in people’s daily life inspires him to create portrait sculptures.

Facial expressions are vital to social communication among humans. These facial expressions are caused by the movement of muscles, which create lines and folds in the skin, in the mouth and around the eyebrows or even muscles in the nose. It is an individual’s personality that will determine which facial expressions or muscle movements will convey their particular response to an interaction.

The face exhibits ten thousand different expressions revealing all known human emotions.

It is no coincidence that the face of a person may reveal the underlying life of that person. Many facial expressions contain cultural values. The same facial expressions may communicate differently in various cultures depending on the societal norms.

Artists benefit from learning about their subject since it helps them decide on how to accent features of the subject. Getting to know a person will give an artist a channel into that person’s character. The artist, capturing the moment, creates a library of emotions to visualize in order to complete the profile of the person.

The benefit of creating a portrait bust sculpture  is the ability to reimagine using the tool of three dimensionality. Portrait sculptures provide us with multiple views of a person’s face since the artist uncloaks all the aspects of that particular person.

When you choose to commission the artist to immortalize a loved one, you will be able to decide the material used to finish your sculpture either in plaster, bronze or aqua resin. The process entails Marlowe first making the sculpture in clay, having the client present, working through photographs or zoom and then asking you to approve it before the finishing process. He designs the sculptures for you to enjoy and share for countless years to come.

Once the work of art is complete, Marlowe will crate and ship it directly to you for your peace of mind. Glenn Marlowe and SculpturesNYC is excited to provide you with a work of art that you will be able to exhibit with pride.  To learn more about our sculptures and services, send us a message today through our online form
